Wyoming at Arizona State

Wyoming lost starting QB Andrew Peasley (20 TDs, 5 INTs in 2023) to the NFL, so junior Evan Svoboda (200 yards in 2023) is the new starter. The offensive line has four starters back and expectations are for a balanced, conservative offense. The defense was third in the Mountain West Conference in total yards allowed and brings back seven starters. Wyoming played a road game at No. 4 Texas last fall and lost 31-10, plus had a 24-19 win over No. 24 Fresno State. Arizona State also played Fresno and lost 29-0. Arizona State's offense was a disaster because of injuries as the QBs combined for 8 TDs and 14 interceptions. The ground game averaged just 3.6 yards per carry. QB Jaden Rashada transferred to Georgia and redshirt freshman QB Sam Leavitt steps in. At least the defense looks very good, especially in the secondary, and this shapes up as a defensive duel.
