Wisconsin vs. Alabama

A pair of powerhouse defenses meet in Arlington, Texas for this opener. Wisconsin has a new coach in Paul Chryst and a strong ground attack he will have to lean on to control the ball and the clock. That's because senior QB Joel Stave (9 TDs, 10 INTs, 1,350 yards, 53%) regressed as a junior. But the defense is dominant, allowing 20.8 points per game in 2014, ranked #17 in the nation. The defense will be solid, especially in the secondary, led by senior CB Sojourn Shelton and senior CB Darius Hillary. Alabama is working in a new quarterback and even coach Nick Saban isn't sure who will start, saying this week he's going to decide on game day. Three starters are gone from offensive line that allowed only 16 sacks and the offense has relatively new wide receivers. But this defense is loaded once again, a unit that has ranked#1, #4 and #6 in the nation in points allowed over the last three years. The front seven is loaded with talent and depth and will be one of the best in the country with junior NT A’Shawn Robinson and senior DE Jason Reed. The defenses are too strong, so take the UNDER.
