These are a pair of programs that are used to winning a lot of games and going to a big Bowl game, but both have been playing at a much lesser level over the past couple of seasons. The question then is, which program is closer to turning the corner? The short answer is West Virginia. The Mountaineers own three losses and they have come in competitive in games vs. Oklahoma, Alabama, and a 1-point loss to TCU. They have also knocked off Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Maryland in a very difficult schedule. Texas is just 4-5 and the wins have come against Iowa State, North Texas, Kansas, and Texas Tech, hardly a quality win in the bunch. Texas has Oklahoma State and TCU yet to come, and will likely not even find their way to a Bowl game. West Virginia owns an amazing 11-1 ATS mark in their last 12 on the road vs. a losing home team. Make the play on West Virginia.
