Wake Forest at Duke

Wake Forest returns nine on offense, but that's not necessarily a good thing as the Demon Deacons averaged only 17 points per game in 2015, and 17 points the previous three seasons combined. One of their wins last season was by a 3-0 score over Boston College. The Deacons picked up where they left off with a 7-3 win over Tulane in their opener, even though they gained only 34 yards on the ground and had 175 total yards of offense. John Wolford was 9-of-17 for 79 yards and his longest pass completion was 16 yards. The Wake Forest defense held the Green Wave to 280 yards total yards and 3.1 yards per rush. The Deacons return eight defensive starters, including the entire front four. Duke defeated N.C. Central 49-6 and the game still went UNDER by four points. Redshirt freshman Daniel Jones threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns and the defense allowed only 112 yards and four first downs. Wake Forest will not be lacking motivation as it has lost to Duke five years in a row. The Deacons have gone UNDER in four of their last five road games and 13 of their last 19 after a win.
