The BCS system has really been unkind to Virginia Tech. They were ranked No. 4 going into last week and they went out and beat a ranked Virginia team on the road 38-0. Inexplicably they slipped in their ranking percentage and were passed by Stanford. It’s hard to believe that under this system you can beat a ranked team on the road by 38 points and be perceived as a worse team relative to others than before the game. I believe the snub will create a lot of motivation for this Hokies team. This is their chance to show that they are better than perceived. It's also a chance to atone for their only blemish of the season vs. Clemson 23-3. Clemson has taken a U-turn from what they were back then while Tech has put the pedal to the metal and won out. Virginia Tech has posted an 8-1 ATS mark the pat three seasons on the road vs. conference foes. The Hokies also have a mastermind facing a team that beat him in the last matchup. Frank Beamer is 30-10-2 ATS with conference revenge, and to a single digit line those numbers go off the charts as he has lost just 4 of 29 ATS. Revenge extracted! This one goes to Virginia Tech.
