Virginia at Virginia Tech

This is rivalry week, and in Virginia that means Virginia vs. Virginia Tech. There is a lot on the line here simply because the winner will become Bowl eligible while the loser will pack up the footballs for the season. The Cavs were in desperation mode last week, knowing they had to win their last two games to secure a Bowl bid, and took out a very good Miami team 30-13, and have some momentum coming into this one. Virginia Tech is in a downhill spiral, as they have lost four of their last five, including an ugly 6-3 loss last week to a struggling Wake Forest team, a game which ended in regulation without a score from either team. One reason for the offensive collapse has been the depletion of the offensive line due to injuries, and the Hokies' offense is weak to begin with, and is now futile at best as we saw last week. The door is open for Virginia who just seems to have more working parts right now to capture the win. The Hokies are not what they once were and are 16-34-2 ATS in their last 52 games, as Virginia is a momentum team that is now 6-0-1 ATS following a spread win. Virginia in this one.
