Virginia at Clemson

Clemson scored all its points in the first half, much to the chagrin of its bettors, as the Tigers won 49-0 against The Citadel as 51-point favorites two weeks ago. Trevor Lawrence went 8-for-9 passing for 168 yards and three touchdowns and he ran the ball in for another score before being taken out in the second quarter. The Tigers are once again national title contenders and they have won 22 ACC games in a row by an average of nearly 33 points. Virginia was demolished 62-17 in last year's meeting, but the Cavaliers do come off a 38-20 win over Duke. Brennan Armstrong finished 24 of 45 for 269 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions. Wayne Taulapapa rushed for 95 yards on 5.9 per carry and Lavel Davis Jr. had four receptions for 101 yards for the Cavaliers. Virginia has covered the spread only one of its last five road games and the Tigers are 6-0-1 ATS their last seven October games and 5-0 ATS following a bye week. Clemson is 18-7-1 ATS its last 26 conference games and it has gotten the money 20 of 28 games after winning by at least 20 points. Look for the Tigers to cover the big number and take Clemson.
