USC at Arizona State

This is a high PAC 12 total but a pair of good, veteran defenses meet. USC is off a bad defensive game against Stanford, but don't overreact. USC has seven starters back on defense this season and with their NCAA sanctions finally over the Trojans have better defensive depth as their recruiting class ranked #1 nationally. The Trojans are 8-2-1 UNDER the total after a loss, plus 34-16-2 UNDER after a spread loss. USC heads out on the road and the UNDER is 4-0 in their last four road contests. They face an Arizona State squad with senior QB Mike Bercovici, who got a lot of hype coming into this season but last year he only played half the year with 12 TDs and 4 picks. In their only step-up game this season he led the offense to just 17 points in a loss to Texas A&M, going 5-of-20 combined on third and fourth down. The Sun Devils' injury plague continues on offense as they lost wide receiver Devin Lucien last week, joining RBs Kalen Ballage and De'Chavon Hayes, plus star wide receiver D.J. Foster is still banged up and will be limited. Arizona State is 4-1 UNDER the total in September when defenses are traditionally ahead of the offenses, while USC is 11-3-1 UNDER against a team with a winning record. This one stays UNDER.
