The Monroe War Hawks won eight games a year ago, but suffered key losses, and last year's darlings are off to a rocky start in 2013. This was a team that beat Arkansas a year ago and lost to Auburn in overtime, and played Baylor to a 5-point game. But this year they lost to Baylor by 63, so this is a team that has fallen off substantially from a year ago. Texas State can claim a 3-2 record, and they beat a strong offensive team in Wyoming, and held Texas Tech to 33 points, which is below their average. The Bobcats are 2-0 at home, and have a much better defense than the numbers show because of a couple games vs. BCS Conference teams. UL Monroe is a dismal 1-10 ATS in their last 11 following a loss, while the Bobcats have bounced back off a loss to go 5-0 ATS in their last five. Under Dennis Franchione, Texas State is 13-5 ATS at home following a loss. They don't have the name, but they are the better club, so play on Texas State.
