UL Monroe at Georgia

The good news for UL Monroe is they led the Sun Belt Conference in passing last season. The bad news is that they finished last in rushing, total offense, and scoring. The projection here calls for more of the same with a seventh-place finish in the Sun Belt. Georgia has been one of the top teams in the SEC for many years, and they have continued to get high recruiting grades. They may finally have the goods to win it all in the SEC. Todd Gurley is gone, but that isn't a factor, as he was covered when injured last season by Nick Chubb and his 1,547 yards, and could be a Heisman hopeful this season. A strong offensive line should ensure that, with four back this year from a team strength last season. Georgia will benefit from Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins who did not opt for the draft, giving them outside linebackers on each side that can rush the QB and seal both sides of the field. Georgia has also been ahead of things with their offense vs. their defense, but the gap is narrowing, and this could be a special year if the defense makes progress. One thing is for certain is that this won't be a contest, so lay the huge number and back Georgia.
