A pair of winless teams will do battle here. Chris Masson is solid at QB for the Cajuns, but their defense is the problem as they allowed 37 points per game a year ago. Kent State QB Spencer Keith managed just 8 TD passes a year ago, to 11 INTs and just doesn't have the skill level to do great damage against the weak Cajun defense. He also has a new head coach and a new offensive coordinator, and will work out of a revamped system that will take time to learn and be effective. Defensively it’s yet another change for Kent State with a new defensive coordinator. The Flashes will change from a 3-4 to a 4-3 this year. This is a weak team with changes across the board, and will be vulnerable early especially as a sizeable chalk. The Cajuns are a surprising 7-0 ATS in their last seven on the road, while the Golden Flashes are a money-burning 2-10 ATS in their last 12 out-of-conference tilts. LA Lafayette plus the points in this one.
