UL Lafayette at Georgia Southern

The Georgia Southern Eagles did not join the FBS until 2014, and have more than held their own at 22-12. They run out of the triple-option, which is always difficult for an opponent to prepare for. That is especially true when that opponent has a short week to prepare for it. The Eagles may be only 4-5 but have taken three of those losses were to Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and unbeaten Western Michigan, so they are better than their record. Also, with two wins over their last three games will make them Bowl eligible for the third straight year. LA Lafayette has lost four of their last five games, and offense has been a problem all season. The Ragin Cajuns have scored just 13.3 points per game in their last three, and will see possessions limited in a game dominated by the Eagles ground game, so opportunities to score will be limited. While LA Lafayette has been good against the run, Appalachian State went for 171 yards against them in a 24-0 loss, and they run the option as well. This is a tough spot on short rest, so make the play on Georgia Southern.
