UCLA at California

Chip Kelly is off to a rough start in his first year as coach of UCLA as it has yet to win a game, but the Bruins may have played their best game of the season in a 31-24 loss to Washington as a 21-point underdog. Freshman quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson went 27-of-38 for 272 yards with two touchdowns and an interception and Joshua Kelley rushed for 125 yards on 6.3 yards per carry. The Bruins were down by 17 at halftime and kept it close by scoring a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter. California started the season 3-0, but the Golden Bears have lost their last two games at home to Oregon and at Arizona. The Bears came back from a 10-0 deficit to lead 14-10 at the half, but Arizona outscored them 14-3 in the second half.  Bears QB Brandon McIlwain passed for 315 yards, but he also threw three interceptions. California is 1-3-1 ATS this season and the underdog is 15-6-1 ATS the last 22 meetings. Thompson-Robinson figures to improve each week and the Bruins are getting closer to getting a win while California has regressed. Take the points with UCLA.
