Texas-San Antonio vs. Marshall

Marshall suffered a five-game losing streak in midseason and then bounced back to win two of its final three to win a bowl berth. The Thunderding Herd ended the regular season with a 35-21 victory over Arkansas State while gaining 279 yards on the ground on 5.3 yards per carry. Marshall has several players opting out mostly due to the transfer portal, including QB Cam Fancher, who was the only quarterback to throw a TD pass this season. Cole Pennington will start in this game and he was 49 of 79 for 437 yards and six TDs with three interceptions in three games and he started against Georgia Southern and South Alabama. Texas San Antonio had its seven-game win streak snapped when it lost the regular season finale 29-16 at Tulane and the Roadrunners finished 5-6-1 ATS in 2023. Marshall won and covered last year's Myrtle Beach Bowl 28-14 over Connecticut. UTSA is 0-5 ATS its past five non-conference games and it will be missing one of its top defensive players in edge rusher Trey Moore. The Roadrunners are 0-4 in bowl games following their 18-12 loss to Troy in the 2022 Cure Bowl. The Thundering Herd has the motivation to finish with a 7-6 winning season with a victory here.
