The New Mexico Lobos have not had a winning season since 2007, but this may be the year they break through and become Bowl eligible. They certainly showed something, albeit vs. Mississippi Valley State, in week one where they ran up a 66-0 win. The Lobos went for 370 yards on the ground, and after a season averaging over 300 on the ground last year, they are poised to do the same this season. Add in a more experienced QB at the helm, and the passing game should take a step forward as well. Tulsa had a good run where they won 10 games or more in four of six seasons, but the program has hit a bump. Over the last two years they have combined for just five wins. They opened at home with a thrilling 47-44 win over a weak Florida Atlantic team, forcing overtime with a last play FG. They have big problems as they allowed FAU to gain 300 yards on the ground, and will have no answers for one of the top ground games in the country. This game fits a 96-31 ATS situation for the host, and backs New Mexico in this one.
