Tulane vs. Southern Miss

ARMED FORCES BOWL - Southern Mississippi did not get invited to a bowl game last year even with a 6-5 record so the Golden Eagles will be motivated for this one. Quarterback Jack Abraham has 3,329 passing yards with 18 touchdowns this season and a completion rate of 67.5 percent. Quez Watkins has 1,024 receving yards and Tim Jones has 66 receptions for 840 yards giving the Golden Eagles plenty of firepower on offense. Tulane lost five of its last six games while giving up an average of 35.6 points in that span. The Green Wave's biggest win of the season was a last-second victory over Houston and the other wins were against mediocre competition. Tulane is #55 in yards allowed compared to #36 for Southern Miss, which is #18 in the country in rush defense and that will be important against Tulane's option offense that averages 251.4 yards on the ground and the Golden Eagles will have several weeks to prepare.
