Tulane at Houston

Tulane defeated Houston 20-17 last season as a 9.5-point underdog. The Green Wave is poised to do it again as it has won three in a row while the Cougars have lost two straight, allowing 104 points. Houston's defense was pathetic in last week's 59-49 loss to Temple as it gave up 317 rushing yards on 5.8 yards per carry and 542 yards overall. Every time its offense got close, the Houston defense would allow another score while having trouble stopping the Owls on third and fourth downs. Meanwhile, Tulane beat East Carolina by racking up 535 total yards of offense, which should concern the Cougars this week, and quarterback Justin McMillan threw three touchdown passes for the Green Wave with no interceptions. Houston is #121 in the country allowing 489.8 yards per game and 34.4 points while Tulane is a little better at #90 allowing 422.1 yards and 25.8 points. The Cougars' defense hasn't been able to stop any FBS teams this season, including a 63-point outburst by Texas Tech in September.
