Texas Tech vs. South Florida

BIRMINGHAM BOWL - South Florida lost two of its final four games, including a 49-42 shootout against Central Florida in the regular season finale and a 28-24 loss to Houston as a 10-point favorite. Texas Tech rebounded from a four-game losing streak to end the season on a high note winning two of three, including 27-23 at Texas as a 7.5-point underdog. The Red Raiders held their final three opponents to 24.7 points per game, which would not be considered great for most teams, but it's a big accomplishment for normally defensively-challenged Texas Tech. Meanwhile, South Florida's defense struggled down the stretch allowing an average of 29 points its last five games and the Bulls were 1-4 ATS in that span. Quarterback Quinton Flowers has completed 53.4 percent of his passes for 2,600 yards with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. Texas Tech has gone OVER seven of its last eight bowl games and 14 of its 17 neutral site games. USF has gone OVER four of its last five after allowing at least 40 points its previous game. South Florida is averaging 38.3 points per game and Texas Tech averages 34.3.
