Texas State at Appalachian State

Appalachian State has made a quick splash since joining the FBS in 2014. This program won immediately at 7-5 in their first year, and finished 11-2 last year, and are off to a stellar 6-2 start this season. While they are 24-9 SU, the oddsmakers have been on them as they are a flat 16-16 ATS. The area they have the most trouble is trying to take down huge lines. The main reason for that is they run out of the triple-option attack on offense, and the ball is on the ground a lot to keep the clock ticking. Fewer possessions makes it difficult to cover huge numbers, and that has been the case for the Mountaineers who are a woeful 1-6 ATS when trying to cover -17 to -35. Texas State is also new to the FBS, and they have taken their lumps at times, but they have only lost one conference game in their history by more than 32 points, and I think the number on this game is way over done. Make the play on Texas State.
