TCU has a new sophomore QB, and the defense hasn’t been as sharp as recent seasons. The defense allowed 50 points in a 50-48 loss at Baylor, and 40 in a 40-33 OT home loss to SMU. They were outgained 461-454 and allowed 349 yards passing, so this secondary is suspect. The loss ended a school-record 22-game home winning streak for the Horned Frogs. The Horned Frogs own an impressive looking 7-2 record, but they are just 3-5 ATS and 2-5 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. They really step up in competition this week against mighty (and undefeated) Boise State. The Broncos have a veteran, super-talented team led by senior QB Kellen Moore (29 TDs, 5 INTs). Boise State averages 43.9 points, 183 yards rushing and 295 passing per game. That's on top of last season where Moore posted 33 TDs, 6 INTs and 3,845 yards. He has a strong offensive line behind senior offensive tackle Nate Potte. Boise State got back one of three players suspended by the NCAA for undisclosed reasons in starting safety Cedric Febis. The defense (16.8 ppg) is outstanding after allowing 13 ppg last fall. Boise State had another laugher, a 63-13 win at Colorado State with an edge in yards 742-231. How about 393 yards rushing? The Broncos won by 50 points for the second straight week. They also had a 37-26 win over Air Force and come home from a 48-21 win at UNLV. The Broncos are 34-18-1 ATS in their last 53 games overall and 41-15-1 ATS against a team with a winning record. Take Boise State and give the points.
