Syracuse at Wake Forest

Syracuse had their biggest game of the season last week in the Dome vs. Notre Dame. The Cuse played competitively, but in the end it was a disappointing 17-point loss. Their biggest problem is a defense that has allowed 181 points in their four games vs. FBS teams, or 45.3 points per game. Since they have not topped the 33-point mark on the season, you can quickly get a grasp on where their struggles are coming from. Wake Forest has been one of the worst offensive teams in the FBS for longer than they would care to admit. There are some major signs that things are changing. The Demon Deacons scored seven points in their opener against Tulane, and it looked very familiar. However, things have changed in a way we haven't seen around here for quite some time. Wake scored 30+ points in back-to-back games for the first time since September 17, 2011. Their previous 30 games saw them reach 24 on three occasions, and topped 24 just once. They have reached 24 in three of their last four games, and two of their top scoring games over their last 30 games have come in the last three weeks. The offense is coming, but is still under the radar, and against a Syracuse team that has not stopped anyone the confident Wake offense will find some operating room. Lay the points on Wake Forest.
