Southern Illinois allowed 41 sacks last season and they have a new starter in QB Hunter Simmons (169 passing yards in 2023). The offense also lost its top two running backs and two of its best three wide receivers. BYU had all kinds of problems on offense and the quarterback situation is still up in the air. The running attack looks average, at best. BYU's defense struggled in Big 12 action, but played great last September when stepping down in competition allowing an average of eight points in victories over Southern Utah and Sam Houston State.
