South Alabama at UAB

These teams are meeting for the first time and UAB enters the game with a 2-0 record although against very weak competition in Alabama State and Akron. South Alabama did cover at Nebraska in the season opener and then beat Jacksonville State before losing to Memphis last week. UAB was a 40-point favorite against Alabama State and eked out a 24-19 win and then the Blazers did manage a cover at Akron as an eight-point favorite. The Jaguars are led by running back Tra Minter, who has rushed for 239 yards on only 30 carries for an 8.0 average. The Blazers managed only 83 yards on the ground on 2.4 yards per carry against the Zips. Sophomore QB Tyler Johnston III has only a 53.5 completion rate for the Blazers with five touchdowns and an interception this season. UAB is #105 in the country in total yards and #98 in rushing yards. The Blazers are laying too many points in this matchup, so play South Alabama.
