South Alabama at Kent State

These teams are both in interesting positions. Kent State opened the season with a conference game against Ohio. They suffered a 3-point loss, and now have to head to South Alabama who went 4-3 in the Sun Belt a year ago, winning their last three to finish 6-6 overall. They have a lot of good pieces from that team back, and once again should be a player. The problem I see in this game is that Ohio State is next up for Kent State, while S. Alabama will be hosting an SEC team, a rare event, as a strong Mississippi State team comes to town. That should lead to a lack of focus on both sides, and that usually translates more on the defensive side of the ball as opposed to the offense. I think that there could be some big plays in this game with a fairly low and reachable total. The Jaguars went for 30 points or more in 8 of their last 11 last season, but also surrendered 30 or more in five games. Look aheads should make this one more of an offensive battle, so make the play on the OVER.
