SMU at Tulsa

Tulsa has the flashy offense, but Southern Methodist has a terrific defense under second-year coach Chad Morris. The Mustangs defense is tied for second nationally with 14 turnovers gained, including an FBS-leading 12 interceptions. Horace Richardson and Jordan Wyatt have four interceptions apiece and Wyatt has returned two for touchdowns. They've played a pair of fast offenses, too, in Baylor and TCU. On offense, SMU WR Courtland Sutton (22 catches, 492 yards, four TDs) leads all FBS players with at least 20 catches, and has a 22.4 yards-per-reception average. Tulsa is home but on a 3-9-1 ATS run in their last 13 home games, plus 2-6-1 ATS against a team with a losing record. Tulsa is off a pair of losing seasons and is not a stellar defensive team at #61 in yards allowed, #63 against the run allowing 155.8 yards per game, plus #83 in points allowed (30 points per game). The Golden Hurricanes are 5-15-1 ATS at home against a team with a losing road record.
