It has been a slow start for San Jose State at 1-3, but losses to Iowa State, Tulsa, and Utah State are not anything to be ashamed of. New Mexico hasn't exactly lived up to the billing either, as the Lobos have yet to beat an FBS team, losing to New Mexico State, and Rutgers. Both teams have potential problems to deal with as San Jose State QB Kenny Potter is questionable, and New Mexico RB Teriyon Gibson, who already missed last game is facing a possible suspension. San Jose State has been their own worst enemy as they have made 10 turnovers in their three games vs. FBS teams, resulting in three losses. New Mexico won seven games last year for their first winning record since 2007. New Mexico likes to run the ball, but have actually been below average at 6.3 yards per attempt vs. teams allowing 6.5, and with a key back possibly out, they are going to have bigger issues. This is the perfect contrarian spot as dogs of 3.5 to 10 points that allow 35+ points per game, after scoring 14 or less in their previous game, rise to the occasion to go 54-23 ATS in the last 77 instances. Grab the points and back San Jose State.
