It is the last gasp for San Jose State as they are an imperfect 0-10 vs FBS teams on the season. The Vandals watched a chance for a second straight Bowl appearance cross the goal line last week when Fresno State put the winning points up with just 14 ticks left on the clock. San Jose State has scored 18 points or less in nine of their 12 games, so they know the onus is on the defense to find the win column. Idaho was a big offensive team a year ago, scoring 20+ in every game including their Bowl win, and it started looking similar this year. But the offense has brought that to a screeching halt. The 30+ they hung on opponents in six of their first seven games has not be seen again as they have topped out at 28 in their last five averaging just 17.8 ppg. The incentive is gone and the offense has failed, so this will be a challenge for these teams to reach this total. In their last 29 games vs. poor passing defenses (those allowing 58%+), San Jose State is 22-7 UNDER. THey are also 16-5 UNDER in their last 21 games vs. poor rushing teams (those averaging under 120 rushing yards per game). Also, in the underdog role on the road, they are 26-11 UNDER in their last 37. Idaho is 15-5 UNDER in their last 20 at home following a loss. The UNDER gets the call.
