Southern Miss at Troy

Chip Lindsey won his first game as head coach of Troy two weeks ago and now takes on Southern Mississippi, which is looking to bounce back from a 38-15 loss at Mississippi State. The Golden Eagles allowed only 20 points per game in 2018 and ranked third in the nation in total yards allowed. QB Jack Abraham went 18-of-26 for 234 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions against Mississippi State and Kevin Perkins and De'Michael Harris combined for 100 rushing yards on 11 carries. The Golden Eagles have a plethora of talented running backs who are much more experienced this year. Troy trounced FCS school Campbell 43-14 as Kaleb Parker finished with 282 passing yards and two touchdowns and B.J. Smith ran for 108 yards on 10 attempts. Southern Miss is 12-4-1 ATS its last 17 September games and Troy is 2-6 ATS its last eight when following a bye week. Southern Miss is 8-3-1 UNDER its last 12 non-conference games and it has stayed UNDER five of seven versus Sun Belt schools. The Trojans are 17-8-1 UNDER after a bye week and 7-3 UNDER after an ATS loss. This will be Lindsey's first test versus an FBS team and play Southern Miss and the UNDER.
