Southern Miss at Marshall

If you have been following, home underdogs have done very well this year in college pigskin. Marshall has been an up and down bunch but so has Southern Mississippi. Marshall hasn't done well as a favorite this year but they are 3-1 ATS as a dog. Marshall plays well on their home field and is probably one year away from getting back to elite status. The Golden Eagles lost by 4 points as a 7 point underdog last week. Winning teams off a road cover but a straight-up loss as an underdog are just 23-54 (30%) over the last 5 seasons. Southern Miss is missing a lot of their best players this year due to injury and disciplinary reasons. They are giving up 436 yards per game on the road and allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete over 60% of their passes. Marshall gets up for what is a big home game for them. We side with the Thundering Herd here for one star.
