Southern Miss at LSU

The Les Miles era at LSU is over. It seemed that he had all the talent in the world every year, but lacked a dominating offense. However, the defense was always a strong suit. That was apparent right out of the gate in an opening season disappointing loss to Wisconsin 16-14. The offense averages just 25 points per game, but as usual the defense is strong, allowing 14.8 ppg. Southern Mississippi is going to struggle for points here, putting a lot of pressure on an LSU offense that isn't used to racking up big points. Southern Miss has yet to see a defense even close to this, so the offense, that has been above average, will get a rude awakening, especially playing in Baton Rouge for a Saturday night game. Southern Miss is 53-33 to the UNDER in the second of back-to-back road games. The Tigers own a 20-6 UNDER mark vs. high turnover teams - those averaging more than 2.5 turnovers a game. This one stays UNDER.
