Southern Miss at Charlotte

It looks like we are witnessing the rebirth of the Southern Mississippi program that crumbled rapidly after 18 straight winning seasons, only to have put together a woeful 4-32 mark the last three years. The good news is the Golden Eagles have matched that three year win total of four through just seven games this season. The offense appears to be ahead of the defense at this time, but they may be challenged here in this one. Charlotte is an unknown commodity to most, but make no mistake, this is a quality defensive team that will give Southern Miss a handful when their offense tries to move the ball. The problem for Charlotte is an offense generates just 4.4 yards per play and a point every 19.1 yards gained, so points will be problematic in this one. Southern Miss has played four straight games to the UNDER, and I look for that number to go to five after this one. This one stays UNDER.
