Rutgers coach Chris Ash is suddenly in the hot seat after losing by 21 points at home to Illinois a team that had a long conference road losing streak. He opened his weekly press conference defending his team, and pointing out progress in a long-term rebuild. The defense of his players should call for a spirited effort here, much in the same way they did against Indiana in losing just 24-17. Maryland will be running the ball a lot and with success vs. a weak Rutgers run stop-unit, but the Terrapins are completely one-dimensional and have not thrown for more than 121 yards in any of their last four games.
