Rice at Texas

What Rice may bill as the battle for Texas, this game means a whole lot more to them than it does the Longhorns. For Texas it is just another game on the schedule. Texas found out early they have a long way to go to get back to an elite level, as they were ripped apart by a strong Notre Dame team last week in losing 38-3. The Horns offense, which has been the case in recent years, struggled, netting a game total of just 163 yards. Rice has their work cut out for themselves in this one. While the Owls have had a decent offense the past few years where they have averaged over 30 points per game. Since Dec 31, 2013 against teams not from a power-five conference, they have scored a grand total of 34 points or 11.3 points per game in three attempts. That means Texas will have to do all the heavy lifting here to push the total over the top, but at this point in time, getting in the high 30s or low 40s is not in the cards. This ons stays UNDER.
