The Rice Owls are playing well and own a 6-2 record on the season and have already become Bowl eligible. While they have managed to score points, they are below the average yards per play allowed by their schedule of opponents so far. North Texas rates out in similar fashion, so these teams really stack up pretty even from the line of scrimmage. Perhaps the biggest difference in this game is the fact that North Texas has already forced 22 turnovers on the season. In an anticipated close game, turnovers are a difference maker. The Mean Green have another edge with WR Brelan Chancellor, who is a great special teams player that has already brought one back this season. North Texas has been 6-0 ATS after holding their last opponent to under 100 yards rushing. Also, North Texas head coach Dan McCarney is 21-9 ATS in his career after allowing 14 or fewer points last game. Play on North Texas.
