After getting destroyed by UCLA 49-24 in week one, the Rice Owls had a nice comeback win vs. Kansas last week, winning 25-24. While having beaten a BCS Conference team that may look huge, the reality is that the Jayhawks are going to be lucky to win a game in the Big-12 this season. Louisiana Tech saw their first game against Texas A&M postponed by Hurricane Isaac, but won a shootout vs. Houston 56-49. Question marks still surround QB Taylor McHargue for the Owls. He has been prone to bad decision making over his career, and was benched both as a freshman and a sophomore. The Bulldogs will present a lot more problems than Kansas. This is an explosive offense that can pass and run equally well. The Owls simply don't have enough offense to stay in this one. While LA Tech seldom makes mistakes, the Owls have shown a propensity to do so under McHargue, and that could led to even more trouble than just stopping the LA Tech offense. Rice is now just 3-12 ATS in their last 15 on the road vs. a winning team and the Bulldogs are now 8-0 ATS when following a win. Play on LA Tech.
