Purdue at Iowa

The Purdue Boilermakers started the season at 3-1, but have now lost five straight games. They just don't match up very well vs. the stronger teams and that is evidenced by their recent tumble. The good news is that all five of those losses were at the hands of good teams, all with winning records. Iowa is 4-5, and presents an opportunity for Purdue to again be competitive. The Hawkeyes have run into some trouble of their own after a 4-2 start to the season as they have dropped their last three, most recently to a not very competitive Indiana team. It has been a struggle for Iowa throughout the season on offense as they have produced 21 points or less in six of their nine games and recently the usually dependable defense is showing signs of wear from being on the field a lot due to an inefficient offense. After allowing 17 points or less in five of their first six games, the Hawkeyes' stop unit is allowing 30 points per game over their last three. Iowa is just 9-11 straight-up in conference games over the past three seasons. And under Kirk Ferentz, the Hawkeyws are 30-35 straight-up following an ATS loss and 11-14 SU after back-to-back losses. This is a good spot for Purdue to sneak out a win and they know it. Play Purdue on the moneyline.
