Penn State can play tough defense, fourth in the Big 10 in sacks. The offense has slowed down, too, scoring 17 and 26 points the last two games - both UNDER the total. The Penn State defense continues to get stops in the backfield, leading the Big 10 and ranking ninth in FBS with 8.5 tackles for loss per game. Its 21.0 points allowed per game ranks fifth in the Big 10. They face an Indiana offense that has also slowed down, scoring 21, 24, 26 and 16 points the last four games and they only got 14 on Penn State a year ago. Since the arrival of coach Tom Allen, Indiana is the most improved team nationally in total defense (-169.4 yards per game) and passing defense (-134.1 ypg), the sixth-most improved in third-down defense (-12.2 percent) and the ninth-most improved in points per game allowed (-12.3 ypg).
