Old Dominion at Southern Miss

After 18 straight winning seasons the Southern Mississippi program fell hard and fast. The previous three years saw this team finish 4-32 SU, but have revitalized the program, and come into this game at 7-3. If they take care of business here, they will likely square off with LA Tech next week for the C-USA West Title. Two of the three losses have come against Nebraska and Mississippi State, and six of their seven wins on the season have come by 21 points or more. The numbers from the line of scrimmage are considerably above average offensively, and a tick above average defensively. Old Dominion is 5-5 and it is pretty distinct what they have done on the season. Their five wins were against teams that have a combined record of 9-32, as well as beating Norfolk State. Despite the poor teams in the five wins they manage to win by an average margin of just 7.2 points per game. The five losses have come to teams that are 36-16, with an average margin of 29.4 ppg! You can see they have not been up to the task of taking on good teams. They have in fact gone 0-9-1 ATS in their last 10 losses as a FBS team. All Southern Miss in this one.
