Oklahoma at Tennessee

Hopes are high for Tennessee head coach Butch Jones in 2015 -- and they should be. The team is coming off a Bowl win while returning 17 starters. This offense was outstanding last season (28.9 points per game), with five offensive linemen back, junior QB Joshua Dobbs and 6-3 sophomore RB Jalen Hurd (889 yards, 4.7 ypc). The mobile Dobbs ran for 469 yards rushing, 4.5 ypc, and all his top targets are back. The Volunteers are on a 5-2 spread run, including 5-1 ATS at home. A defensive line that dominated Iowa in the TaxSlayer Bowl got even better this offseason. Back are Derek Barnett and Curt Maggitt, who combined for 21 sacks last season, and the Vols' defensive backfield, led by cornerback Cameron Sutton, should be one of the conference's best, adding junior college transfer CB Justin Martin. The Volunteers roasted Bowling Green last week 59-30, at home with 604 yards, 399 yards rushing, and a sizzling 9-of-16 on third down. Into town comes Oklahoma, off a win over Akron, but the Sooners were held to a field goal over its first six possessions. The Sooners also rushed for only 100 yards with a new offensive style and playbook. Oklahoma is on a 3-7 ATS run, and is 2-5 ATS against the SEC. This is their first road contest and the Sooners are 4-1 UNDER the total when on natural grass, plus 5-1 UNDER against the SEC. This is a revenge game, as Oklahoma routed Tennessee early last season at home, but the young Vols are far more experienced and much better since then. Play Tennessee and the UNDER.
