CAMELLIA BOWL: Appalachian State put the finishing touches on a breakout 10-2 season by winning their last three games. This has been a team that has been strong on both sides of the ball all season. Ohio coach Frank Solich nursed his team through a dreadful three week period that saw the Bobcats fall apart. They dropped three straight, allowing 152 total points, and it looked like his team was ready to crumble. Here is a stat you won't see occur too much in CFB: The Bobcats gave up 152 points in that three week period, and 146 in their other nine games combined! If you discount the slump, the Bobcats are 8-1 in their other nine games, and finished the season winning their last three and covering them all. They also grabbed a win at Northern Illinois, a team that was 36-2 SU in 38 home games before Ohio took them down. Ohio gave up just 16.2 ppg outside of their three game swoon. The Bobcats are 36-16 to the UNDER when following a game where they generated 200+ on the ground. The Mountaineers have also gone five straight UNDER outside the conference.
