How good is this Notre Dame team with Charlie Weiss at the helm? It is becoming evident that the Irish lost to a very good Michigan State team on their home field. Outside of that loss, the Irish have looked like their brethern of old. They spanked Pittsburgh, went into the Big House to beat Michigan and crushed Washington on the road in a game that many thought would be a tough spot for them. They are 3-0 on the road now and travel to play Purdue - a team coming off a very big emotional loss to Minnesota. It was a very trying game, both physically and emotionally and that could very well bite them here. Home favorites off a close loss by 7 points or less to a conference rival in a matchup between two good teams are just 13-40 ATS (24%) over the last 10 seasons. Notre Dame is 8-0 ATS on te road vs. poor passing defenses (allowing 250 or more passing yards/game) since 1992. We're on the bandwagon and believe in Weiss in a big way. He has this team firing, and this should be another tremendous defensive showdown - one in which we see the Irish winning or at least keeping it very close. One star on Notre Dame as Brady Quinn continues his quest to be noticed for the Heisman.
