Notre Dame vs. Oregon State

Each school will be a shell of the team that played the regular season due to transfers and opt-outs and Oregon State will be without its former head coach, Jonathan Smith, who took off for Michigan State. The Beavers' starting QB D.J. Uiagalelei won't play and Notre Dame will be missing its starting backfield as Sam Hartman and running back Audric Estime opted out. Oregon State does have the advantage at quarterback as Ben Gulbranson got plenty of experience in 2022 completing 62.1 percent for 1,455 yards and nine TDs. The Beavers also will have Deshaun Fenwick, who rushed for 496 yards and five TDs, and wide receiver Silas Bolden. Notre Dame will start either sophomore Steve Angeli or freshman Kenny Minchey at quarterback. Angeli played mostly in garbage time completing 19 of 25 for 272 yards and four TDs with an interception. Minchey completed both his pass attempts for 12 yards.
