Northwestern vs. Mississippi State

Mississippi State. started the season as the biggest surprise in the SEC at 7-0. The wheels appeared to fall off as they finished 12-4, but the competition was simply over their head. They were not on the level of the likes of Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M. They faced them all in a period of three weeks, all losses. Their only other setback was to Mississippi in a rivalry game. This game has otherwise been up to task especially on the defensive end. They allowed just 115 points in their eight wins, or 14.4ppg, and can certainly play defense against teams more on their level. Northwestern had a similar season, up to task against comparable competition and beaten soundly by the likes of Penn State ,Nebraska and Michigan, where they too allowed a lot of points. The Wildcats allowed 167 points in their nine wins at 18.6ppg. It really shows that both these teams should be able to handle the offense of the other as they have done so all season when facing teams that are not well above their own level. Miss State is 42-18-1 to the UNDER in their last 71 following an ATS loss. Northwestern now 7-1 to the UNDER if they are off a huge win by 20+. Play the UNDER in this one.
