Northern Illinois at Western Michigan

It appears that the reign of the Northern Illinois Huskies in the MAC Conference is coming to a free falling end. The Huskies have averaged just about 11 wins a year for the last six seasons, but at 1-4, it is clear this is not a very good team. They have once again lost their QB in Drew Hare, just like last season, and the margin for error with this team is already pretty low. The offense is as bad as we have seen in years, and the defense has already allowed 40+ points in three of their five gams this season. The new kid on the block is Western Michigan, who has started the season at 5-0. They already have a pair of wins vs. the Big-10, beat previously unbeaten Central Michigan, who beat Oklahoma State on the road this year, and a win vs. a tough-to-defend competent option team in Southern Georgia. It is time to repay the Huskies, as the Broncos have lost to them seven straight times, so there will be no mercy or letup for this one. I look for a focused Western Michigan team to be going hard after Northern Illinois here, and it could get ugly early. Play on Western Michigan.
