Do you prefer the run or the pass? North Carolina likes to throw, but faces a Georgia Tech option-run attack. The North Carolina defense is soft, which means Tech can control the ball and the clock. This is the first road contest for North Carolina and the Tar Heels are 4-0 UNDER the total away from home, part of a 6-1 run UNDER overall. In their only step-up game North Carolina got shut down by a weak South Carolina defense in the opener in a 17-13 defeat. QB Marquise Williams was sacked four times and the offense was 5-of-13 on third down. The Tar Heels have alternated quarterbacks this season. Georgia Tech's defense has played well, allowing 23.2 points per game, but the offense has been struggling, scoring 22 and 20 the last two games. Injuries have complicated Georgia Tech's search for new running backs after losing Synjyn Days, Zach Laskey and Charles Perkins from last year's Orange Bowl team. RB Qua Searcy (ankle) is out eight weeks and WR Michael Summers (shoulder) is out a while. The Yellow Jackets also lost top receivers DeAndre Smelter and Darren Waller. With no proven skill players around him, quarterback Justin Thomas has pressed to create big plays instead of playing within the spread-option offense. They come off a loss to Duke getting 20 points while going 5-of-19 on third down and the oddsmakers have made this total too high. Play this one to finish UNDER the total.
