New Mexico State at New Mexico

NMSU ran into a buzz saw in Colorado's defense last weekend in Boulder. There were many more folks in attendance than were planned on and they saw the Buffs shut down the Aggies in every facet. How do we place this New Mexico team, that shocked Mizzou last weekend? Think UTEP, in terms of talent. They have a very good back and will depend on the run much of the day which will create some opportunities for stops for the Aggies. Lost in the 39-0 final score last weekend in Boulder was the play of the Aggie defense which stifled Colorado for much of the first half. UNM does not have the talent of a Colorado, and this is an in-state game for bragging rights. The underdog in this game is 5-2 ATS. New Mexico State is due for a rebound after playing so horribly, especially on offense, two weeks in a row. The line here is inflated and the Aggies will find a way to score some points this week. Big underdogs of 21.5 to 31 points after scoring 9 points or less last game against an opponent that was involved in a very high-scoring game last week are 41-13 (76%) ATS since 1992. NMSU keeps this closer than the number and we'll back them for two stars here.
