New Mexico at Utah State

New Mexico blew out UNLV and then lost a close, 20-18, decision at Colorado State. Now, the Lobos looks to bounce back from last week's 38-7 loss to Fresno State when they were held to 148 rushing yards, which was about 50 yards below their season average. Utah State allows 167.6 rushing yards per game, and the Aggies won at Wyoming, 24-16, but didn't cover the 13.5-point spread. The Aggies had only 53 passing yards on 12-of-28 by quarterback Jordan Love, who threw no TD passes with one interception. Utah State did run for 141 yards on 4.3 yards per carry against the Cowboys, but also allowed 231 yards on the ground on 4.6 yards per rush. New Mexico had covered the number the three previous meetings before losing 24-10 to the Aggies in 2017, and this line is inflated due to New Mexico using a backup QB, following Tevaka Tuioti's season-ending injury. However, Sherion Jones has thrown 13 TD passes this year, and he threw for more than 2,100 yards at his junior college last year. The road team has covered four of the last five meetings, and Utah State is 7-15 ATS its last 22 conference games. Also, the Lobos have covered four of their last five after a 10-plus point loss at home. Grab the big points with New Mexico.
