New Mexico at Fresno State

Fresno State is unbeaten this season at 9-0, sitting at #15 in the nation. They are in the hunt to secure a possible BCS Bowl bid, but must at least get into the top 12 in the final BCS poll. That certainly means that running up scores is likely because they need every point they can get, and unfortunately, New Mexico lies in the cross-hairs of that. New Mexico runs the ball almost exclusively and passes ineffectively. That means when they fall behind quickly here they will be forced to do what they aren't very good at which is throw the football. And, Fresno has feasted on teams like New Mexico that run the ball well. The Bulldogs are 8-1 ATS the past three seasons vs. teams that average over 200 yards per game on the ground. The other side of the ball for the Lobos has been a nightmare. Their last six losses have seen the opponent score 48.3 points per game against them, and Fresno is the best offense they will have seen. The Bulldogs have the added avantage of having two weeks to prepare here, so I expect this one to get very ugly. Yes, the number here is extremely high, but in the end it won't be high enough. Take Fresno State as my CFB Game of the Month.
