Nebraska at Northwestern

Last year's meeting went into overtime as Northwestern pulled out a 31-24 win and the Wildcats are just a small favorite this year even though Nebraska has yet to win a game. Northwestern is in a letdown spot after its big upset win at Michigan State and the winless Cornhuskers finally got a cover losing at Wisconsin 41-24 as an 18-point underdog. The Huskers have a big edge offensively as they are averaging 432.2 yards per game, including 185.0 on the ground. Northwestern averages 371.2 yards of offense and only 77.4 rushing yards. Clayton Thorson went 31-of-47 for 373 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions against the Spartans, but the Wildcats gained only eight net rushing yards on 20 carries. That type of performance won't permit the Wildcats to take advantage of Nebraska's weak run defense. True freshman Adrian Martinez had his best game of the season completing 24-of-42 passes for 384 yards and two touchdowns with no picks against the Badgers. The road team is 5-0 ATS the last five meetings and the Cornhuskers have covered the number five of their last seven road games dating to last season. The Huskers are in desperation mode and close to getting their first win. Take the points with Nebraska.
