NC State at East Carolina

North Carolina State returns eight defensive starters from a team that allowed 26 points per game last season and was ranked #29 in total defense.  Bradley Chubb, B.J. Hill and Kentavius Street, it's top three defensive linemen, are back. The Wolfpack beat William & Mary 48-14 on Saturday as it held the Tribe to 2.2 yards per rush and 168 yards of total offense and just 10 first downs. N.C. State is breaking in two new quarterbacks as Ryan Finley started and was 17-of-21 for 174 yards and two touchdowns, and Jalan McClendon finished six-of-nine for 88 yards. The Wolfpack has gone UNDER the total in five of its last six games after scoring 40 points, and East Carolina went UNDER their last six games in 2015. The Pirates beat Western Carolina 52-7 in a game that barely went OVER last week. Quarterback Philip Nelson had a field day against the Tribe defense, but he'll face a much tougher stop-unit against an FBS school this week. East Carolina held the Catamounts to 320 total yards, including 172 through the air. N.C. State's new QBs will be playing their first road game and East Carolina's secondary is its defensive strong point. This one stays UNDER.
